Podsmith Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
Podsmith ("we", "us", or "the app") generates AI-narrated audio podcasts from
topics you provide. This policy explains what information we collect, how we
use it, and the third-party services involved when you use Podsmith.
Information We Collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your
email address and a securely hashed password, managed through Amazon Cognito.
- Content you provide. The topics, styles, durations, and other
inputs you submit to generate a podcast, along with the scripts and audio files
generated from them.
- Usage activity. Basic playback and app events (for example, when a
podcast is played, paused, or completed) and any ratings or written reviews you submit,
used to operate and improve the service.
- Purchase information. If you subscribe, we receive a transaction
identifier and subscription status from Apple to confirm and maintain your subscription.
We never receive or store your full payment-card details — those are handled by Apple.
- Device and diagnostic data. Limited technical information (such as app
version and device type) used for reliability and troubleshooting.
How We Use Your Information
- To create the podcasts you request and deliver them to your account.
- To authenticate you and maintain your account and subscription status.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the app and its content quality.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Third-Party Services
To provide the app, we share the minimum necessary data with the following providers:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting, authentication (Cognito),
storage of your account, scripts, and audio, and the Amazon Bedrock model service used
to generate scripts. The topic you submit is processed by an AWS Bedrock large language
model (Anthropic Claude) to write the script.
- Fish Audio — text-to-speech synthesis. The generated script text is sent
to Fish Audio to produce the spoken audio.
- Apple — in-app purchases and subscription management.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Data Storage and Location
Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure located in the United States. We retain your
account data and generated content for as long as your account is active.
Deleting Your Data
You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app
(Profile → Delete account). Deleting your account removes your profile,
generated podcasts, and associated data from our systems. You may also cancel your
subscription at any time through your Apple Account settings.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access-controlled
cloud storage — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is
completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Children's Privacy
Podsmith is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information,
please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating
the "Last updated" date above.
